Kognifi illustration: a marketing manager checks a row of customer materials and spots the bag that does not match (illustrative).

A touchpoint is any place a customer meets your brand. Map them along the customer journey. For each one, write three things: what the customer sees, what it should say, and the owner. This post gives you the audit sheet.

Who This Is For

Marketing and sales staff who see the brand used in different ways.

How to Run the Audit

  1. List every touchpoint from first contact to repeat purchase.
  2. Collect a real sample of each, a photo or a screenshot.
  3. Fill in the sheet: today, should say, owner.
  4. Mark the three touchpoints that most customers meet. Fix those first.
  5. Repeat the audit every six months.

Example: A Furniture Retailer

Take a furniture retailer with four showrooms in the Klang Valley. Its delivery team wore no uniform and gave no card. The audit made the delivery a touchpoint. Uniforms and a care card now carry the brand.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Auditing only marketing materials. Invoices, delivery and calls are touchpoints too.
  • No owner per touchpoint. Each one needs a named team.
  • Fixing everything at once. Start with the three busiest touchpoints.

Try It This Week

Choose one customer journey stage. List its touchpoints. Take a photo of each one.
