An HRD Corp Accredited Trainer is a TTT Certified or TTT Exempted Trainer who completed the HRD Corp accreditation process. Since 1 January 2025, a trainer needs accreditation status to deliver training within the HRD Corp ecosystem. (HRD Corp Training Providers’ Circular No. 5/2024, item 3.2)
The trainer statuses
- TTT Certified Trainer: the trainer completed the five-day HRD Corp Train-The-Trainer (TTT) certification course. (HRD Corp HRD-TDF Guideline, item 4.1.1)
- TTT Exempted Trainer: HRD Corp exempted the trainer from the TTT course, based on certification, qualification or experience. (HRD Corp HRD-TDF Guideline, item 4.1.2)
- HRD Corp Pre-Accredited Trainer: a new TTT Certified or TTT Exempted Trainer. The trainer has a 6-month grace period to get accreditation and can conduct HRD Corp training during this period. After 6 months without accreditation, the trainer cannot conduct training under HRD Corp. (HRD Corp HRD-TDF Guideline, item 4.1.4)
- HRD Corp Accredited Trainer: a TTT Certified or TTT Exempted Trainer who completed the accreditation process. (HRD Corp HRD-TDF Guideline, item 4.1.3)
The two routes to accreditation
- Accreditation by assessment: for trainers who became TTT Certified or TTT Exempted after 1 January 2021, and for trainers who do not have the hours for the activity route. The trainer submits a course outline, a session plan, the slides and a video of a real training session. (HRD Corp HRD-TDF Guideline, item 5.4.2, 7.2)
- Accreditation by activity: only for trainers who became TTT Certified or TTT Exempted before 1 January 2021. The trainer completes 120 training hours within 12 continuous months. (HRD Corp HRD-TDF Guideline, item 5.4.1, 6.1)
Validity and renewal
- Accreditation is valid for 3 years. (HRD Corp HRD-TDF Guideline, item 5.8, 9.1)
- To renew, the trainer completes a total of 360 training hours within the 3-year validity period. A trainer who does not have the hours can renew by accreditation by assessment. (HRD Corp HRD-TDF Guideline, item 9.2, 9.4)
- The trainer applies for renewal at least 3 months before the accreditation expires. (HRD Corp HRD-TDF Guideline, item 9.5)
The 120 hours (in 12 months) are for the first accreditation by activity. The 360 hours (in 3 years) are for renewal.
How to check a trainer
Ask the training provider for the trainer’s HRD Corp Accredited Trainer certificate and check the expiry date. Each Kognifi trainer profile shows the trainer’s credentials and the HRD Corp badge that HRD Corp issued to the trainer. (HRD Corp: Trainers’ Development Framework)
