Who these governance, risk and compliance courses are for

  • Board members, directors and C-suite executives who govern the organisation and lead ESG and sustainability.
  • Compliance, HR, finance and procurement staff who manage legal duties such as Section 17A of the MACC Act 2009.
  • Supervisors, team leaders and safety officers who keep the workplace safe under OSHA.

These courses are not theory lectures. Each one is a working session with workshops, group activities and assessed work.

How the courses fit together

Start with the legal duties: anti-corruption and workplace safety. Then build governance and ESG at board level.

  • Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption: the legal duty. Section 17A of the MACC Act 2009, corruption risks in the workplace, and corporate and individual responsibility for compliance. One day.
  • Governance and Ethics: the governance system. Ethical leadership and organisational integrity, the board's role, risk management and compliance, the regulatory framework, and how corporate entities are governed.
  • Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA): workplace safety. OSHA 1994 and OSHA (Amendment) 2022, the legal responsibilities of the employer, employees and the OSH committee, hazard identification and HIRARC, and incident reporting, investigation and emergency basics.
  • ESG Practices for Sustainability: ESG for leaders. Sustainability and shared value, the role of the board in ESG, articulating value creation, global measurement and reporting standards, and striking a balance.

How each course runs

  • Each participant brings a real case from work: a customer, a product, a team or a proposal.
  • The trainer shows one tool at a time. Then each participant uses the tool on that case.
  • The trainer gives feedback on the work during the class.
  • At the end, the trainer assesses the work against a rubric. You can see what each person can now do.

Participants leave with work that they can use on the next working day.

What your team brings back to work

  • Tools that each participant used in class on a real case from their own organisation: a corruption risk, a workplace hazard, a governance issue or an ESG practice.
  • An assessed piece of work for each participant.
  • The Kognifi Certificate of Competency for participants who pass 80% of the assessment.
