Who this path is for

  • HR executives: Steps 1 and 2.
  • HR managers and HR business partners: Steps 2 to 5.
  • Line managers who manage people: the route for line managers below.

The courses in order

Take the courses step by step. Each step builds the skills that the next step needs.

Step 1: Run HR and People Processes

Know the HR role and its duties, and use practical tools to develop people and keep them motivated.

Step 2: Set KPIs and Resolve Conflict

Set KPIs and track performance. Then handle grievances and conflict under Malaysian labour law.

Step 3: Work With People and Negotiate

Work with different personalities, and negotiate with employees and managers.

Step 4: Lead Change

Help employees take part in the change.

Step 5: Lead With Values

Lead with values and self-knowledge.

Route for Line Managers

Supervise, set goals and give out tasks. Then lead the team, and manage stress and burnout.

Also Useful: Compliance and Safety

HR teams that run compliance take these courses from the Governance path.

Skills for every career path

Every Kognifi career path includes two shared skill groups: Communicate and Influence, and Personal Effectiveness. Communicate and Influence helps people work with customers and colleagues. Personal Effectiveness helps people plan and manage their own work.

Communicate and Influence

Build good working relationships, write and speak clearly, and present to management.

Personal Effectiveness

Plan and run projects, manage your own work, use AI tools at work and manage work stress.

How a team takes the path

  • In-house: one course at a time for one group of 6 to 16 participants, at your office in any state or online. One day costs RM 10,500 for one group.
  • Public classes: send one or two people to a public class in Petaling Jaya. Each course card shows the next date.
  • Each course ends with an assessment. Participants who pass 80% of the assessment get the Certificate of Competency.

What the team can do at the end

  • Run HR processes that develop and keep employees.
  • Help line managers lead, develop and measure their people.
  • Resolve conflict and grievances within Malaysian labour law.
  • Keep the workplace ethical, compliant and safe.

Questions about the HR path

Is each course HRD Corp (HRDF) claimable?

Yes. Each course is an HRD Corp Claimable Course (SBL-KHAS) for HRD Corp registered employers.

How many courses are in the path?

Twenty courses: 38 training days in all. Thirteen courses are for the HR role and seven are in the two common areas. Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption (BG-ABAC) is one day; Managing Employee Work Stress at the Workplace (BL-MWS) is one day; the other courses are two days each. Not every person takes every course.

Do we need to take the courses in order?

Yes, for the best result. Start at Step 1 and take the steps in order. Each role takes only the courses it needs (see Who this path is for). Tell us the roles in your team, and we suggest the starting step.

Can you plan the path for our team?

Yes. Tell us the team size and the roles, and we send a plan and a quote.
