Who this path is for

  • Business analysts: Step 1, then Step 5.
  • Business planners: Steps 1, 4 and 5.
  • Business development managers: Steps 2 and 3, then Step 4. Start at Step 1 when the team needs market data first.

The courses in order

Take the courses step by step. Each step builds the skills that the next step needs.

Step 1: Find and Size Opportunities

Collect and analyse market data, and report the opportunities with recommendations.

Step 2: Develop the Product

Develop and test new products. Then fit the product to the market and the buyer personas.

Step 3: Win Partners and Deals

Act as a trusted adviser to business buyers, then negotiate the deal. Start with Interpersonal Selling Skills when the team needs the sales basics.

Step 4: Set the Strategy and the Plan

Use strategic frameworks to find risks and opportunities. Then turn the strategy into a marketing plan with costs and actions.

Step 5: Build the Business Plan and Track Results

Present the strategic business plan for approval. Then set KPIs, measure performance with dashboards and correct results to plan.

Skills for every career path

Every Kognifi career path includes two shared skill groups: Communicate and Influence, and Personal Effectiveness. Communicate and Influence helps people work with customers and colleagues. Personal Effectiveness helps people plan and manage their own work.

Communicate and Influence

Present proposals with clear data, and build good working relationships through clear communication.

Personal Effectiveness

Plan and run projects, manage your own work, use AI tools at work and manage work stress.

How a team takes the path

  • In-house: one course at a time for one group of 6 to 16 participants, at your office in any state or online. One day costs RM 10,500 for one group.
  • Public classes: send one or two people to a public class in Petaling Jaya. Each course card shows the next date.
  • Each course ends with an assessment. Participants who pass 80% of the assessment get the Certificate of Competency.

What the team can do at the end

  • Find and size new business opportunities with market data.
  • Shape an offer that fits the market and the buyer.
  • Present a business plan that management can approve.
  • Win partners and deals, and track the results with KPIs.
