| Your Answers | Start With |
|---|---|
| One “no” or more to questions 1 to 3 | Brand Management (MC-BM) |
| “Yes” to questions 1 to 3, and “no” to 4 or 5 | Brand Strategy and Storytelling (MC-BS) |
| “Yes” to all five | Neither. Review your brand book once a year. |
Why Consistency Comes First
A story needs one brand to belong to. When each team uses a different logo, tone or promise, stories add to the confusion. Brand Management sets the identity and the brand book first. Brand Strategy and Storytelling then builds stories on it.
Example: A Property Developer
Take a property developer in Selangor with three project teams. Each team made its own brochures, with different colours and claims. The marketing team answers “no” to questions 1 and 2. They start with Brand Management and write one brand book. Six months later, they join Brand Strategy and Storytelling.
Try It This Week
Collect five things your customers see: a brochure, a post, a proposal, an email and your website. Put them side by side. Mark each place where the logo, colour or promise is different.
