In this course, participants learn how to plan, execute and deliver a project on time and on cost.  Learn how to create a comprehensive project plan that includes objectives, tasks, timelines and risk management strategies.

Participants learn how to use Gantt Charts and Kanban Boards for Waterfall, Agile and Scrum projects. Participants will be guided by the trainer and coached in a workshop-style environment Course.

Project Management Training Course Content

In this course, participants learn how to create a clear project scope of work and expectations.  Plan the project schedule and control project activities

Module 1 – Project Management Concepts and Tools

Participants learn how a project is phased,  customer stories, it’s lifecycles and process areas.  They learn how to create a scope of work, stakeholder list, resource calendars and integrated change controls. 

They learn how to use project management tools and techniques relevant to the types of projects such as waterfall, agile and scrum.

Module 2 – Creating the Project Plan Schedules and Baselines

Participants learn to sequence tasks to ensure timelines are realistic.  They learn how to do a project work breakdown structure and network analysis to optimize time, resources and delivery baselines. 

They learn how to create Gantt charts and how to use Kanban boards to plan and manage waterfall, agile and scrum projects.  They learn how to create a project milestone plan.

Module 3 – Project Risk Management

Participants learn to see risks to the project plan, schedules and baselines.  They learn about project risk management and how to identify these risks. 

They learn how to qualify the risk impact on the project and how to manage and control these risks.  They learn about project reserves and how to build reserves into the project plan.

Module 4 – Controlling the Project to Planned Baselines

Participants learn how to monitor and control project activities.  They learn how to control scope creep, project change requests and project team performance.   They learn how to communicate and report progress to stakeholders. 

They learn how to manage showstoppers, how to inform stakeholders of bad news and how to create recovery actions.
