Governance and Ethics Workshop Day 1

Module 1 · Introduction to governance and ethics

This module introduces participants to the significance of governance and ethics in achieving corporate sustainability. It highlights the critical role of these principles in ensuring the long-term viability of businesses.

The module also illustrates how poor governance and ethics can severely impact the operations of companies and threaten their sustainability.

Module 2 · Ethical leadership and organisational integrity

Participants are introduced to ethical leadership and organisational integrity, and the crucial role of ethical leadership in promoting a culture of ethics and integrity in an organisation.

• The importance of ethical leadership
• Creating a culture of ethics and integrity in the organisation
• Developing ethical policies and procedures

Module 3 · The board’s role in governance and ethics

Participants are introduced to the board’s role in Governance and Ethics which focuses on the responsibilities of board members in ensuring that their organisation operates ethically and with integrity.

It covers topics such as the principles of good governance, board composition and structure, ethical decision-making, and the importance of accountability and transparency.

• The responsibilities of the board in ensuring good governance and ethics
• The role of the board in setting ethical standards and guidelines

Governance and Ethics Workshop Day 2

Module 4 · Risk management and compliance

Participants are exposed to identifying, assessing and mitigating risks to their operations and reputation.

It provides tools and best practices for managing risks related to legal and regulatory compliance.

• Understanding the risk management process
• Implementing a compliance programme
• Ensuring legal and regulatory compliance

Module 5 · The regulatory framework

This module introduces participants to an overview of the regulatory environment in which organisations operate. It covers various laws, regulations, and standards that govern different industries, and the role of regulatory bodies in enforcing them.

Participants also learn about compliance requirements and the consequences of non-compliance, as well as the importance of ethical behaviour in maintaining a store regulatory framework.

Module 6 · Governing corporate entities

Participants are introduced to key components of corporate governance and sustainability, including the importance of understanding sustainability and how it can be integrated into corporate strategy.

It also explores the ethical considerations that come with governing corporate entities and the importance of promoting a culture of sustainability within the organisation.

• Placing sustainability into corporate strategy
• Measuring and reporting on governance
