Lean Six Sigma Training Workshop Day 1

Module 1 · Introduction to Lean Six Sigma and Process Improvement

This module introduces the building of a foundational understanding of Lean Six Sigma principles and their relevance in consulting, business and manufacturing operations.

Participants learn how to explain the core concepts of Lean Six Sigma, recognize roles within the methodology, and identify potential applications in consulting projects.

Topics Covered:

• Core principles: Value, waste reduction, and variation control
• The importance of process improvement in consulting
• Roles and responsibilities: Yellow Belt, Green Belt, Black Belt, and Master Black Belt
• DMAIC framework introduction (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control)
• Understanding customer value and Voice of the Customer (VoC) Identifying opportunities for Lean Six Sigma in consulting projects

Activities:

• Overview of Lean and Six Sigma: History, evolution, and integration · Lecture
• Identifying waste types · Workshop
• Roles and responsibilities in teams · Group Activity

Module 2 · Define and Measure Phases – Setting the Foundation

In this course, equip participants with skills to define project goals, measure process performance, and gather relevant data. Participants will learn to create project charters, map processes, and collect validated data to establish a strong foundation for improvement initiatives.

• Defining project scope and problem statements
• Creating SIPOC diagrams (Suppliers, Inputs, Process, Outputs, Customers)
• Developing project charters
• Voice of the Customer (VoC) and Critical to Quality (CTQ) parameters
• Process mapping techniques (flowcharts, value stream mapping)
• Measurement system analysis (MSA)
• Collecting and validating data effectively

Lean Six Sigma Training Workshop Day 2

Module 3 · Analyze and Improve Phases – Identifying and Solving Problems

Participants learn to develop analytical and problem-solving skills to uncover root causes and implement improvement solutions. Participants will learn to apply root cause analysis tools, interpret data, and design testable solutions to eliminate bottlenecks and variation.

Topics Covered:

• Root cause analysis tools (5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram, Pareto Analysis)
• Data analysis and interpretation using Lean Six Sigma metrics
• Identifying process bottlenecks and sources of variation
• Applying Lean tools: Kaizen, 5S, Just-In-Time (JIT), Kanban
• Designing and testing solutions (pilot studies and simulations)

Activities:

• Root cause analysis tools · Lecture
• Analyze data with charts and interpretation using Lean Six Sigma metrics · Workshop
• Brainstorming and evaluating potential improvement solutions · Group Activity

Module 4 · Control and Continuous Improvement – Sustaining Results

In this module, participants will learn how to ensure long-term success of Lean Six Sigma projects and embed continuous improvement culture in consulting work.

Participants will learn to implement control mechanisms, monitor improvements, and integrate Lean Six Sigma into organizational strategies for ongoing success.

• Control phase tools: Control charts, process documentation, standardization
• Sustaining process improvements through monitoring and audits
• Building a continuous improvement mindset in teams and clients
• Integrating Lean Six Sigma into organizational strategy
• Reporting project outcomes and ROI to stakeholders Certification pathways and next steps (Green/Black Belt advancement)
